Our first year
Lewis Central's first Lego league team started in 2009. Our team was a group of nine and we really liked Lego Robotics. In our first year we made it to state and won the Team Spirit Award. We didn't know much about Lego robotics, but we caught on quickly. We have had a great experience, and have had a ton of fun! Since then we have made improvements and learned a lot. Lewis Central has gotten more teams. Five of the members on our team have been together since the beginning. We have gotten new teammates, too.
2010
This is us as a 2nd year team at state. The theme this year was called Body Forward and our invention had to be about bio-medical engineering. Our inventions had to deal with repairing injuries, overcoming genetic predispositions, and/or maximizing the body's potential.
We like to call NXT computer component the "brain." We program it to make our robot
do missions and complete tasks. A couple years ago we had to perform surgery on our
robot's brain. We had to fix a few loose wires!

2011
Our last year's team was called Fruity Fanatics. We went skating for fun last year and it built a lot of team spirit! This picture has some of our team members. We named our selves the Fruity Fanatics because the theme of the 2011-2012 Lego competition was called Food Factor. It was about keeping food safe.
2012
This is our 2012 team. The theme was Senior Solutions. This year we improved the quality of life for seniors by helping them continue to be independent, engaged, and connected in their communities. We received the Runner Up Award for our invention and decided to enter it in the First Lego League Global Innovation Award. We also entered our invention in Invention Convention at our school. We have now advanced to the state level!
